About this writing studio

Model-written prose has a recognisable shape: sentences of almost identical length, cautious hedging, connective phrases that carry no information, and a habit of restating the question before answering it. It reads as competent and says very little, which is why readers disengage from it even when they cannot name why.

This studio is an editing workspace for that problem. It rewrites a draft with more sentence variety and plainer vocabulary, then reports what changed — sentence-length spread, repeated openings, filler phrases removed — so you can see whether the writing actually improved or merely got reshuffled.

How it works

  1. 1Paste your draftBring in the text you already have. The studio is for editing your own work, not for producing something you have not thought about.
  2. 2Choose an intensityLight keeps your wording and fixes rhythm. Standard rewrites at the sentence level. Aggressive restructures more freely and needs closer review afterwards.
  3. 3Watch the rewrite and read the reportProgress streams as it works, and the report compares input and output on sentence variety, average length and common filler phrases.
  4. 4Edit the result yourselfReinstate the specifics only you know, cut anything that overstates your case, and read the final version out loud before you use it.

Tips that make a real difference

  • Give the draft one concrete detail per paragraph — a number, a name, a date — because specificity is what generic prose lacks.
  • Cut the first sentence of most paragraphs; it usually just announces what the paragraph will say.
  • Prefer the short word. Utilise, leverage and facilitate almost always mean use, use and help.
  • Read the output aloud. Anything you stumble over needs rewriting by you, not by a model.

What it cannot do

  • Detector scores, here or anywhere, are unreliable. They flag human writing as machine-written and the reverse, and should never be used as evidence about a person.
  • A rewrite cannot add facts, judgement or first-hand experience. If the draft has nothing to say, editing will not fix it.
  • Where your school, employer or client requires you to disclose use of generative tools, that obligation is yours.

Frequently asked questions

Can this defeat AI detectors?
That is not a promise anyone can honestly make, and it is not the point of the tool. Detectors are unreliable in both directions. The useful outcome is writing a human actually wants to read.
Is it ethical to edit an AI draft?
Editing your own draft is ordinary writing practice. Passing off work as yours where the reader is entitled to know how it was produced is not, and no tool changes that.
How many free runs do I get?
Ten per device per day without an account. Creating a free account and confirming your email removes the cap.
Which intensity should I pick?
Start with Standard. Use Light when your wording matters and you only want rhythm fixed, and Aggressive only when you are willing to fact-check the whole result.
